How long does the molluscum contagiosum virus stay in my body?

The Molluscum virus only lives in the skin so once the nodules are gone the virus is gone. This also means that you cannot spread the virus onto others.

Molluscum Contagiosum does not lay dormant in the body like other viruses (herpes). So unless you come in contact with molluscum again you should be clear of any further outbreaks.
