Q&A: My dd has what looks like Molluscum contagiosum on her right hip/thigh?

Question by a_stylist: My dd has what looks like Molluscum contagiosum on her right hip/thigh?
My dd has what looks like Molluscum contagiosum on her right hip/thigh. It has been there for some time and comes and goes in noticability.

I first assumed it was a pimple but after talking with a friend think this is it. My friend had it on her eyelid and then her son(my dd’s playmate as well) developed it on his groin/penis. I’m assuming that is where my dd got it. Question is, has anyone’s child had it? my dd only has one right now but I worry it will spread.
I’ve heard many GP wont’ treat it and say it will just “go away” my dd swims at PreK with other kids and I have a 4.5m old they often (and so do I) bath together. Any at home remedies worth trying or do I just see the Ped anyhow? All of our local dermatologists have waiting lists so it will be a long while before we can see one. She is also to get her tonsils out in a month, I worry since this is viral it may flare up when she is “down” after the surgery.
Please help!!

Go to the doc.

Stop all group baths. Keep her towels separate. Just go to the Ped. Don’t worry about the Dermatologist.
